COGSWORKS AND ILLUSTRATION CLUB MERGE TO FORM CONCEPTS OF ANIMATION CLUB

The established Cogsworks Animation Club and Illustration Club have announced that they are merging this semester to form the new Concepts of Animation Club.

Aspiring animators and concept artists can become members of the club and learn about skills that are integral to future classes and working in the industry. The merger decision came from the leadership teams of both Cogsworks and the Illustration Club, in an effort to produce differing varieties of learning outcomes for their members.

“We want to give students more access to concept design and animation techniques that are fun and exciting,” the officers tell The Cogswell Chronicle. “Our goal for this term is for members to develop three-second animations for their portfolios and be prepared for future classes.”

After spring break, Concepts will host the 24 Hour Animation Jam, a staple and eagerly anticipated event for many DAA students at Cogswell. The event was previously hosted by Cogsworks, which was one of Cogswell’s longest running clubs before the merger.

The Concepts of Animation Club meets Fridays, 4:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. in Room 148.
