For this season of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars, VH1 opened the Drag Race Fantasy League for the first time. Players can select a team of six (out of ten) contestants to put in front or on the bench every episode to win points. The game is fun and all, but the prizes include tickets to the finale taping of Season 10.
After lots of arguing among thegays™, I’ve decided to list my predictions for the #AllStars3 crown:
Move over, Shangela. Aja is the gift that keeps on giving this season. We were all on the floor when Aja jumped on the All-Star Variety Show, then delivered Princess Disastah, then Sailor-Moon anime realness. Aja has proven that she is not here to play this season.
The reason I’m ranking her as number seven is because as fierce a performer as Aja is, we know that she can’t act. We saw it at the 9021-HO in Season 9 and The Bitchelor last week. This week’s challenge is Snatch Game, and Aja is in danger of losing if her acting skills are anything like we’ve seen before.
6. KENNEDY DAVENPORT
Kennedy, however, has proven that she is the HBIC of Snatch Game after winning her season’s game. I hope she doesn’t pull a Tatianna and plummet this season.
Kennedy Davenport is in the middle as number six because… well, she’s in the middle. She’s had good moments so far, like the return of the crystalized chicken and her lipsync of Lorde’s “Green Light,” but she’s also hit lows like her Janet Jackson and… well, her entrance look. There’s really nothing wrong with Kennedy except she can be quite unpredictable.
5. CHI CHI DEVAYNE
I really hope that Chi Chi pushes forward this season. At this point, she’s been consistently low, and this can mean one of two things. 1.) She will be the Roxxxy Andrews this season without an actual Rolaskatox, or 2.) She will do what she did in Season 8 and bring herself back up (also like Pearl in Season 7) with a bang. I’m betting on the latter. She’s my wildcard in this competition.
4. BEBE ZAHARA BENET
There’s a tiny little rumor that Bebe is actually a guest judge installed by Ru as a ‘mole’ in the competition to help pick the winner at the end of the season.
Regardless, Bebe has already proven that she has what it takes to win. I mean, she did win. The thing is, a part of me wants to watch Bebe succeed in All Stars, but not all the way. She doesn’t need two crowns. But she does need exposure to an audience who didn’t watch season one. I didn’t want the rumor about Bebe to be true, but hey, I’m happy to see her again.
If Trixie gets eliminated too soon, there will be riots. It will be worse than #JusticeForKatya after All Stars 2 or when thegays™ went to war after Valentina went home in season nine. Thegays™ will probably march in all major cities demanding justice for Trixie.
If I’m being honest, Trixie was my frontrunner for this season, but three episodes in and she’s only been safe. Maybe Trixie needs to place in the bottom so she can rise up? God, just saying that gave me anxiety. Trixie needs to step it up.
In contrast to Trixie, Bendelacreme is definitely bringing it all. The challenge for All Stars 1 is competing in pairs. The challenge for All Stars 2 is winners lip synching for your legacy. The challenge in All Stars 3 is lipsynching against Bendelacreme.
Seriously! What is Dela drinking this season?
Bendelacreme may be slaying, but eventually, she might have an Alaska moment where she hits a low point and plummets down the rabbit hole. Unlike Alaska, I don’t know how Ben can recover from something like that. That’s where Shangela comes in.
Shangela has brought it out, level after level, every episode. We saw the Halleloo. We saw the Christmas Ball. We saw corn. Next episode is Snatch Game and Shangela, being a professional actress, has a lot of cards on the table. If she keeps up the momentum she’s got going, she might outshine even Dela.
After all, she has declared herself the Daenerys Targaryen of Drag, and the Mother of Dragons is coming for blood.
Do you toot or boot this power ranking? We’ll be doing another one as we approach the end of the season, so stay tuned! Meanwhile, don’t forget to switch up your Drag Race Fantasy League team sometime before Thursday evenings so you don’t get locked in! Halleloo!
